Here’s a quick video showing the fun process you will learn in this 3 hour Batik workshop on Sunday, April 17, 2016, 1-4 pm.
Here are some images from our recent Batik Workshop. Batik is made by drawing with hot wax using a tool called a tjanting. It takes a little practice to get the hang of, but even the mistakes look good in the end. Where the wax is applied blocks out the dye in the final step but the wax cracks which creates the traditional crackle pattern of real batik.
